Russian President Vladimir Putin signed an order on Monday to call up 133,000 people for military service in the Russian Armed Forces between October and December 2024, according to Ukrinform. This is according to the order published on 30 September.
"From 1 October to 31 December 2024, 133,000 citizens of the Russian Federation aged between 18 and 30 who are not in the reserve and are conscripts will be called up for military service," the document says.
In addition, Putin ordered the release from military service of soldiers, sailors, and sergeants whose service had expired. Putin's decree entered into force on the date of its publication.
As previously reported by Ukrinform, the Russian army in Ukraine is losing a large number of soldiers, and the RF military leadership is putting pressure on Putin to announce a new wave of mobilization.
