Estonians talk about how absurd it sounds to search for people in 21st century

Head of the Estonian Delegation to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) Kadri Tali and members of the Estonian delegation Eerik-Niiles Kross and Aleksei Jevgrafov participate in the autumn session of the PACE in Strasbourg, France, until 3 October, the Estonian parliament’s press service reports.

The head of the Estonian delegation, Kadri Tali, thinks that it is appalling and unreasonable that regardless of the possibilities of technology, we still have to speak about the disappearance of people in the 21st century.

“It is our duty, Estonians, to show the world by telling our stories about the sad and unjust fate a nation has experienced in its history. Each Estonian family has its own painful history to share. We know how important it is to stand up to injustice and not to wait for things to sort themselves out,” Tali said.

At today’s sitting, the PACE will hear a statement by Vladimir Kara-Murza, the winner of the 2022 Václav Havel Human Rights Prize, and a report on implementing the Reykjavik Declaration on the situation of Ukrainian children.
