Sex with robots is set to replace human bodily pleasure by 2050
"Men are just ruining life" - a phrase that will probably be heard less and less from the fairer sex in a decade, as men are set to be replaced by... robots. Sex with machines will be even better than sex with the selfish stronger sex, it is said, although critics argue that it is unlikely to replace human intimacy.
Futurologist Dr Ian Pearson shared these predictions in 2016, when he argued that women would soon be too busy with robots to look at men[1].
Vibrators used to be taboo, but less than a decade ago they were already the talk of the yellow pages. This led Pearson to believe that sex with robots would soon be the same. It was strange at first, but then it became quite pleasurable and even better than watching "dry" pornography.
The futurologist predicts that, by 2050, sex with robots will have completely eclipsed making love with another human being.
But we won't have to wait that long to see some changes - from 2025, rich households will have some robot sex, and from 2030, people will be having virtual sex as regularly as they watch pornography.
The only fear that might arise from robot sex is that what if a person just falls in love with a robot? In other words, such people could be called robophiles.
Handsome sex dolls are widely used instead of robots
The Guardian wrote in 2023 that despite a decade of predictions of a promiscuous future for robot sex, it has never happened.
However, individuals are allowing themselves to have sex with sex robots - which, although they look like sex dolls, can not only flick their legs wide open, but can also talk, thanks to the artificial intelligence they are equipped with.
One French Jutuber, Cyrus North, has already had sex with a female robot. He bought one for 11,000 euros and named it Charlotte[2].
Advances in robotics and artificial intelligence have fuelled speculation about sex robots, and in 2014, predictions were made that they would become as common as bread and butter for breakfast.
However, the sex robot industry remains a niche industry, worth around $200 million, with high costs and limited demand. Experts such as Dr Kate Devlin argue that while sex robots satisfy people's desires for control and intimacy, they are unlikely to become mainstream due to technical, ethical and societal issues.
It is estimated that the average cost of a sex robot on the market is over €3,000. The cost of a sex robot is estimated at around USD 3.5 billion.
Naughty bedtime fantasies satisfied with sex dolls
What a man doesn't satisfy, a sex doll will - or provide the experience with... another person. For example, 57-year-old David Mills, who is going through a divorce from his wife, has finally turned to technology and embraced the pleasures of dolls. It turns out that puppets can not only be used for couples' activities but can also be used for a real group sex party.
A man had a two-year relationship with Taffy, a £5,000 sex doll. He even revealed that he had even had a threesome with this doll and another woman/human.
"But I've met a few women who loved me because of the doll. I had sexual experiences that I would never have had without Taffy," said Mills[3].
According to the Abyss sex doll supplier's website, Taffy has "very realistic labia", "stretchy lips" and a hinged jaw that "opens and closes in a very realistic way".
