Far-right wins in another country

According to preliminary results published by the Ministry of the Interior, the far-right Freedom Party of Austria (FPÖ) won the Austrian parliamentary elections with 29.9% of the vote.

The Austrian People's Party (ÖVP), the outgoing coalition government, came second with 26.5% of the vote.

Compared to the 2019 election results, the ÖVP lost 11% of the vote, while the FPÖ, which was ousted from government in 2019 due to a corruption scandal, gained 13 percentage points.
