Shocking news over the weekend about the removal of Maxim Galkin and Alla Pugacheva's children in Russia

The public organization Veterans of Russia has appealed to the Ombudsman for Children's Rights to deprive the legendary singer Alla Pugacheva and her husband, the well-known humorist Maxim Galkin, of their parental rights. They say the couple's frequent moves could negatively impact the mental health of their children, Liza and Gary.

According to Mash, Ildar Rezyapov, the organisation's head, says that Pugacheva and Galkin's children do not have a stable lifestyle.

"These children are forced to constantly adapt to new living conditions in different parts of the world, negatively affecting their psychological well-being. They live in hot and cold countries, are forced to endure constant cleaning of the swimming pool and even to remove photos from their phones," said Rezyapov.

Pugacheva and Galkin's children live between Cyprus, Latvia and Israel

This year, the children of Pugacheva and Galkin did not return to the Israeli school where they used to study. The family moved first to Cyprus and then to Latvia. According to psychologists, frequent moves can harm children's mental health, as they constantly have to adapt to new circumstances.

Public figures believe such conditions lack stability, which is crucial for children's growth and development. Therefore, activists believe that if the couple returns to Russia, their children should be separated and placed in a local school, where they can cope with "homework, pizza in the school canteen and learning according to the Russian education system."

"Veterans for Russia hopes that the Ombudsman will intervene and take measures to protect the children's rights once the family returns to Russia. In their view, this would be the most appropriate measure to ensure the well-being of the children and return them to a stable environment.

The family left Russia after the beginning of the war in Ukraine

Alla Pugacheva and Maxim Galkin left Russia at the beginning of 2022 after Galkin publicly criticized Russia's military invasion of Ukraine. Galkin, a well-known humourist and TV presenter, condemned the war and spoke openly about his disapproval of the government's policies, which made him unwelcome in Russia.

Following his remarks, the Russian authorities declared him a foreign agent, and his family chose to emigrate.

The family first moved to Israel, and later it was reported that they settled in Cyprus and Latvia. Despite her long career on the Russian stage, Pugacheva has also publicly expressed her support for her husband and his position, but this position has led to pressure and constant scandals for the family in Russia.
